The Wellness department provides health and social support services to Skwlāx te Secwepemcúl̓ecw members and community. Our programs are here to support people through whatever they are facing, whether that is a health concern, a need for counselling, or help navigating daily life. We are here Monday through Friday and welcome you to reach out.
The Community Support Worker provides hands-on assistance to members navigating community programs, social services, and day-to-day challenges. If you are not sure where to start or which service is right for your situation, the Community Support Worker is a good first point of contact.
Confidential counselling services are available to Skwlāx te Secwepemcúl̓ecw members. Counselling supports individuals working through stress, grief, trauma, mental health concerns, and other personal challenges.
Primary health care services are available through the Wellness department’s Nurse Practitioner. The Nurse Practitioner can assess, diagnose, and treat a range of health conditions and provide referrals to specialist care when needed.
A shuttle bus is available to help members get to medical appointments and access services in the region. If you need transportation support, contact the Wellness office to arrange a ride.
Support is available for members dealing with substance use concerns. Drug and alcohol counselling is confidential and provided in a respectful, non-judgmental environment.
The Social Work Lead supports members with a wide range of social and family needs, including connections to community resources, crisis support, and help navigating government systems and services.
The cḱweńllqtn Community Garden is a shared space for growing food and building connection. The garden supports community wellness by bringing people together around land, food, and culture.
The Headstart program supports young children and their families with early learning and development. It is designed to give children a strong start in life by building skills, confidence, and connection from an early age.
